Michael is depicted in full battle regalia, with wings spread, a countenance befitting of his post as the patron saint of warriors...he is encapsulated by the words, 'for us and the souls of righteous men, the Archangel, Michael's strength.'

The coin's reverse features the Ukrainian coat of arms and below the shield is the inscribed year of issue, with the emblem of the Ukrainian Bank below that. All inscriptions are given in native Ukrainian characters, with the name of the bank on either side of the shield.
